I'll begin at the beginning. (grinning) All stories
begin at the beginning.
Last Saturday, my husband went out to the garden shed
at the edge of our property to feed our resident
outside cats and sundry other animals who come to be
fed. He spotted a gray and a yellow tail. Kittens!
When our son arrived to check on us,(he stops by
after work) we told him about the kittens and he
went out to check and came back for a flashlight.
Four, he said. And the shed was no place for them.
So, early Sundy morning he caught all four and brought
them inside to us. I put them in our second bathroom.
The intent was to take them to our vet on Monday morning.
When we got to the vet, his assistant came running out
of the office. They couldn't take them; they already
had kittens running out of their ears. I wasn't about
to take them to the local shelter for they would be
killed. So we found out we needed a big, and I do mean
big, dog cage, cat food, liter box and a place close
to us to tame them.
So I now have four adorable kittens in a cage in my
living room. Which wouldn't be too bad but the other
three adults cats, our cats, are having fits. I have
home for two and hopefully will find homes for the
other two. I'd better find homes for the other two.
My adult cats will not tolerate kittens.

My Life with the Kitten
As I said, we have an addition to the family, a
tiny black kitten. Well, that was a month ago.
That kitten is growing up.
And he is developing some very bad habits. I've
lost all my house plants... I had baskets of
large potpourri around the house. Notice, I said
I did. Now the stuff is all over the floors.
Great toys.
I can no longer work contentedly at my computer.
Nope, he wants attention, so he jumps on my lap,
crawls onto the desk, via the keyboard and sits
in front of my monitor. He's big enough now to
block the screen (or most of it!)
But, he's a cute little bugger and I'm not at all sorry
we have him. He'll be great - when he gets a
little older.
Until then, I've discovered if I have to do any
serious writing, I better close my office door.
It's closed now. Or I would never have gotten
this post written.
That's my life with our kitten...
As ever,

Adding an Addition to the Family
It's called stupid! Or better yet - I've lost my
mind.
I love animals. We've had dogs, cats, even a hamster.
Now, we have a big yellow male cat who has celebrated
his 8th birthday, and no, we didn't have a party
for our king cat.
But two weeks ago, our son found a little black
kitten running around in the storage area of the
place where he works. The poor little thing
hadn't had a thing to eat for at least two days.
(except perhaps, a few bugs)
Also being an animal lover like his mother, he
brought the tiny kitten home with him.
Of course, only a couple of months earlier
he'd bought a kitten himself to keep his bigger
cat company. He really couldn't keep the little guy.
So... Big hearted Mama said, "we'll take him!" But
I had forgotten what kittens are all about. This one
wants to play -- all the time. With the big guy, with
the computer keyboard, with my fingers and hands. It's
a miracle I can still type because his play ends up
in a sharp nibble!
Can't wait for him to grow up a bit so he can no longer
climb up my leg to get to the keyboard, stay out from
under the furniture and leave the big cat alone. (I've
had more exercise in the last two weeks, getting up
and down and under things, chasing the little guy out
of place he doesn't belong, then I've had in years.)
Writing? Don't count on it. Things are all about a
kitten at the moment.
